Hi everyone,

I wonder if someone can clear up a debate the left hand side of my brain is having with the right had side??

I want to "inject" the sound from the Nuvi into my car speakers even if the unit is switched off. Is there such a black box that will sit inline to the speaker wires at the back of the Audio unit with a jack for the line in and just push the sound through the speakers?

I think there is (should be) but I may be wrong.

Cheers,
Paul

Paul, Please have a read through my post in This Thread which details a few options available for you to try - it is possible to do what you want, other devices are available to switch the audio between the output of the car deck and Sat Nav but these can be rather costly - Mike

Hi,

Read it..... can you get the Maplin unit to only switch the source when there is actually sound coming from the nuvi or does it cut the sound whenever the Maplin unit is switched on?

If so then I was looking for something else. I really want the stereo to be listenable all the time and to have the sound of the nuvi muting the radio whenever a signal (ie anything other than sillence) is coming out of the nuvi. A little like thos hands free kits do with the mute feature.
