Hi All,

I have had a read through the forum and think I know the answer to this but I would love someone to confirm a few things with me. I'm considering returning the Nüvi 250W as we're just not getting on Laughing

1. Is there any way whatsover to change the map colours. I find it so much easier to comprehend the data quickly when e.g motorways are blue etc.

2. When travelling a route, is there any way of displaying an ETA and ETE? I know it's subject to change but previous experience suggests that it's usually pretty accurate.

3. The appalling refresh rate is possibly something I can learn to live with but is there a way to improve this. I believe that all GPS devices only really update their position once per second and any more updates are 'guess' work. That's ok in a car though IMHO as it's unlikely that a vehicle travelling at say 50mph will make a completely unpredictable 90° turn to the left in a half a second! The 'guess' is likely to be fairly accurate.

4. My unit also completely locked up on my first trip. Is this common?

Thanks for any help!!

Torsten.

no - but i doubt that would be a valid reason for a return!!

eta should show in the bottom left. then when you're not en route (i.e. just driving with no navigation) it shows your current speed.

Maybe not outside of a 30 day period but within that time I would be able to return it for a refund. I guess I'm just used to the OS scheme but I'm sure I'll adapt in a week or two. I suppose accurate mapping and routing is key above all else.

I just find it odd that ETA is shown but without the current time. I personally think that it should show either ETA + TIME or just ETE. Not a deal breaker there.

I will. :-)

I have now found a USB cable and it has updated to version 2.90 (I think that's what it was). The update screen mentioned nothing regarding bugs or stability in the fix list but they may be a given when releasing an update I suppose. I also don't know what it updated from.

I'll see how I go in the next week or two.

Thanks for the response. I'm just being picky I guess Embarassed
