Right, just ordered my Tom Tom 2 sw with the GPS mouse for my Axim X5. I have a couple of questions. 1st, I will be wrieing it up so the mouse is permantly powered to avois some issue i have read about the serial mouses. But when I am say driving somewhere and stop at a service station, i will obviosly take the PDA out of its holder in case someone decided they want to nick it. When I get back into the car and plug it back in, will it continue from where i left off.

Yes it will. Independently of each other the mouse will remember it's position, and TomTom software will remember it's destination. So when you place the PDA back in the car it will pick up the GPS sigal again and continue with the navigation.

One hint - when your PDA has switched himself off while you were in the service station, you need to swithc it back on (obvious) and then "do something" with it. (Not obvoius, but required due to the power management of the PDA. If you just switch it on it will switch itself off again after a preset time because it thinks it was woken up for the midnight update.

Another option is to tell TomTom not to allow PDA shutdown while TomTom is running - you can do that with the left slider in the GPS applet. But then your PDA will stay on while you are away from the car.
