Problems with POI's

Hi there

Just got hold of a GARMIN StreetPilot C510 and have loaded it with POI's!

My question is Should i be able to see the POI icons on the map when on route to other locations??
As yo prob guess i am a newbie so not sure what im doing.

you will only see them in map mode if you set proximity alerts for them.

they will show on the map when you choose a destination and select 'view map' and then zoom in.
