e.g. If I just want to use it to track POI's.

Or do I just have to turn the sound down and get used to it contstantly re-calculating the route to the last place I had navigated to?

Sure you can. Just start up in Nav mode and don't set a destination. You'll still have the map, speed, compass heading et and can see POI's etc or use CheckPOInt to monitor for speed cams Thumbs Up

Hi xspartx,

To stop TomTom Navigator from constantly recalculating the route to the last place you navigated to, you can tap on the “Turn Guidance OFF” button. This can be accessed from the Navigator screen, by brining up the Navigator Menu and hitting the “more” button twice. To reverse this command either repeat the above and hit the button, which is now named as “Turn Guidance ON” or do a new “Navigate To” process.

If you have the “Map” display running then use the Tools | Clear route … menu, which does exactly that. Wink

Regards,
