Map Images

I use picasa photo browser view my photos and this morning I was looking through them and came accross some "raster" files which are photos or pictures of various parts of the UK and Europe, I clicked on properties and it said they were tomtom backup files, I have never seen these images on my tomtom one and did not even know I had any of europe, can anyone tell me what these pics are for and can they be accessed on the satnav itself?

Go to view map and zoom all the way out then the device will display the pictures you have found - Mike
