Hi guys I recently used the web updater to update my Nuvi 310d but this caused it to freeze up for about 2 hours!! well untill I hit the reset button the problem now is that it comes up with system software missing every time i start the device

I've tried the 310 - 360 .exe update to the SD card with no luck as that doesn't even see the device
also the web updater again but this downloads then trys to re install the file but then says the the file is corrupt, but this does see the device!!
I have installed the grmnusb.sys which was requested following the initial crash but to no avail!!!
I know I'll havew to contact terch support tommorrow but figured you guys may know some tricks ?

So doe's any one have any Idea???
I have searched this forum and others but to no avail!!
Any help is appreciated

Sincerly

It depends on a lot of factors (eg version of WebUpdater, exactly what you have lost), but generally you may well need the 310 specific recovery program from Garmin to fix your unit, although Garmin may prefer you to send the unit back and give you another unit.

Basically, unless you are very keen and technical, it's best to let Garmin handle this, there are some guides on another forum of how to recover from this situation, but without a lot more information on how you got there it would be difficult to recommend the best approach. You would also need a full backup of the unit to restore it - without this there are even less options.

This is unfortunately why I do not recommend the use of WebUpdater for the main unit firmware upgrade, as it is possible to get into these situations (although the latest versions of WebUpdater are a lot better than previous versions).
