I've got a GPS-1210 (Bluetooth GPS) which has been working perfectly with TT and Memory Map, but I read for walking I needed to enable/disable Static Navigation.
I downloaded SirfDEMO, NMEA data was seen in the debug view, I selected Action/Switch to Sirf Protocol, no more NMEA data was visible on the debug view, and the Green LED, indicating a FIX, went out!
I've powered-off and on, SirfDemo can still "see" the unit, but it's doesn't acquire any more.
Is it duff, or can I reset it? |

| Have a read of This which details how to switch between SiRF and NMEA modes, I use an application from the Memory Map site to toggle the SN on/ off as required - Mike |

so is it normal for the Green LED Fix Light to Stop working!
I would have thought that after switching to Sirf Protocol, the GPS would still acquire fixes, although output in Sirf? |

This application does include support for my serial port only COM0,2,3 are supported.
Is this application going to fix my fixes!? |

| I have used it dozens of times to switch between modes on my Bluetooth GPS units, the dangerous thing with SiRF demo and other programs that allow you to change settings is that you can mess up the device in a big way, another method to try and reset it, is to remove the battery for 72 hours and then power it back up. - Mike |

If I'd found this application, I'd have done it, but was using a PC.
I'll try that, ah well, I didn't know that, I was following the an article about Static Navigation, followed the link, but the article didn't state that Switching to Sirf Mode, would stuff it!
Unless, this GPS does something different!
Battery removed. I'll report back asfter 72 hours!!!! |

GPS is working, good as new.
Put the battery back in, before boxing up to send back to mobilfun, after YTEC told me it was toast!
Turned-it back on after only 24 hours and the green light came on and then starting flashing - fixed!
Strange.....
