Help :-( Nuvi 360 with 3.5 software using NT9 update disc :-

Garmin finally send me the update disk and I cannot get it to work !

trying to update my maps via update disc, it wont let me do this via the install "startup" programme for the disc or from the mapsource programme.

I am running Ms Vista Business and Mapsource 6.11.6

When trying to update at the end of the install Cd I get the message ....

"the map update on this unit has failed"

When using mapsource I get "there is a problem communicating with the Garmin device"


I understand I can downgrade the firmware to 3.4 and it should work but I don't know how to do this, can somebody help me before I throw the unit through the window !!!!

forgot to mention it does find the device and the nuvi shows I am connected to the PC - I can browse its files via windows explorer
