Nuvi 660

I have recently bought a Nuvi 660 and am confused (even though I regularly use both Garmin and Lowrance marine GPS systems)

It was supposed to have a speedcamera DB pre-loaded.

On the advice of the supplier, I downloded Garmins POI Loader first, the put low-bridges.coms bridge data on to the unit. This was messy but achievable.

When I then subscribed to this site, and downloaded the camera DB, my bridges disappeared

I put them back, and loaded Garmins camers DB from myGarmin. The bridges are still there


questions:
do I need the Garmin DB, this sites DB, or both?
should I be able to see fixed camera locations when I go to where to then browse map?
Why, when the POI Loader sees my Nuvi, does G start not?

Oh, and why, when set on truck did the bloody thing send me down a narrow uc lane?

Ah yes... :D

This caught me out first time with my 660. What it doesn't seem to point out any too clearly anywhere is that you need to keep your master set of POIs in one location - then POILoader will find them all, create the appropriate single file and load this to your 660.

I suggest you create a NUVI POI folder on your PC and place all your POI data into that. Point POILoader at it and all will be OK.
