Hi, I'm new to this forum. I've had a 510 for a couple of years and my maps need updating, when I looked into it navman want £99 for the updates. I only need the UK and this seems a bit hefty to say the least, and there does not appear to be any alternative other than to get the whole of europe. I have noticed that there are some people selling memory cards on ebay with the maps preinstalled, a lot cheaper than this, and I have also found that you can download files as a bittorrent off the net for free. Just wondering if anyone else has tried any of these and if they are any good. I don't want to be paying £99 every time my maps need updating, it's extortionate. Thanks, any advice gladly received, Simon |

If you don't want them, don't buy them and don't use them. _________________ Tim |

Firstly don't ask how to steal product from the suppliers - regardless of your opinion of how much they charge (see the rather long discusion on map updates NOT FREE), it is immoral and illegal.
However if you are so inclined to get the files on ebay or bittorrrent, go ahead, it won't work and you will waste time and money - Unless you get a registration key that hs not been used before. The only way to do this for sure is buy the maps from a legitimate source. |
