Just a reminder to those members of this forum, that you can do something about improving mapping on your Navman in the future.
If you find an error, report it HERE
It's dead easy, as TeleAtlas have now improved their reporting website to make it easy for dolts like me _________________ Gee-Pee

posted some changes there a little while ago. I'll be curious to see the results in the next map release. _________________ Dom

When the update containing my (an every one elses) information is finally avalible to me, it will cost me a small fortune.
Am I the only one who thinks these guys are at best cheeky asking me to provide the information to them for free.
I suggest to collect it here on this forum. Then PGPS can sell the info to the highest bidder, and use the income to continue to provide a great service back to the community for free :D . |

I guess a slightly tongue in cheek suggestion, Robert but, in the meantime providing Teleatlas with corrections to erroneous mapping might help the Satnav community in general. And, who knows, when you next spend your small fortune on your next update, you might get better value. _________________ Gee-Pee

I found map errors near me on my very first GPS device, and almost expected that by the time I upgraded, they would be fixed! Several devices on and there have been no change.
Although we get the obvious changes like new highways, roads, and poi's, which they recieve mostly from planning and development depts around europe I figure that these errors are like a needle in a hay stack to teleatlas and if we don't tell them about it, no one will.
For the benifit quality control, a small price to pay at the least.
Saying that, I think mabye I'm due some recognition for my hard work, and would happily accept a discount if it is offered. _________________ Dom

Yes, I would give that some serious thought, too. Trouble is, we are giving TeleAtlas the information - which they sell on to Navman and it is Navman who sell us the goods... _________________ Gee-Pee

I've submitted a few errors via the link - they ask you for an e-mail address so they can update you on what you submitted. I don't want paying for the info, but to know that what I submitted has been incorporated would be good, yet I've never had any feedback. Has anyone else had any? |
