iPAQ power mgmt - apols if you all know this already

While walking, I carry my iPAQ in an Aquapac case in my jacket pocket. The case is quite flexible, so the continual movement activates the buttons or touch screen most of the time, hence the backlight is on and the battery goes flat quickly.
In Today>Settings>System>Power>Backlight
there's a tick box for "Turn on backlight when a button is pressed or the screen is tapped". Deselecting this puts you in charge. A long press (about 2 seconds) on the on/off button will turn the backlight on or off. The backlight will still go off if you select the "On battery power: turn off the backlight if the device is not used for [time interval]" but it won't come back on without another long press.
