Garmin i2 - i3 Transflash help !

Hi guys....

Ran into a bit of a problem.... Any ideas what I can do ?

Basically my dad's i2 he bought from ebay about 8 months ago had been working great, until he left the car, un-scuctioned as usual and dropped the unit the 256MB Transflash has dissapeared....

I thought I was doing good by buying an i3 from ebay, I thought I could then transfer my i3's maps onto another Transflash that I bought...

so

Everything copied over fine, but the maps are not accurate at all...

Hope I have kept this simple enough for a guru to help.... He is 74

you can't copy the maps onto a new card. it just won't work. you'll probably find that the i2 is just running off the inaccurate 'base maps'

best bet would be to buy the new maps (v9) for about £45 or get in touch with garmin and explain what happened. they're pretty decent at customer service and you could always say to them that had the i2 come with maps on a cd/dvd you could have reinstalled them on a new card but obviously that's not an option... they might ask you to send in a new tf card for them to install it or they might just say to buy new maps - give them a try, see what they say!
