I've had my c710 since november, and it is completely standard (and running miomap3.2 Nov 26th). During the few months that i have had it, it has failed to turn on 3 times. A soft reset does nothing, and a hard reset is required to get it to boot back up. Anyone know what causes this? Power indicator was green so not caused by flat battery.

Only thing I can point to is that when I used it last night, I turned it off 1/2 way through an announcement. Perhaps this knocked it sideways???

John

PS. BTW, I took it to the french alps last week and used it in a hire car. It was fantastic, and rerouted me past traffic through the back streets of Annecy. I was well impressed!

Mine did this for the first time the other day.

One reason for the problem is turning off the car engine/power whilst the Mio is plugged in to the car power socket. It doesn't happen every time but it is possible to replicate it. It's obviously a bug. I don't know if it hits all firmware versions but without a firmware update there isn't a fix as yet.

I thought my unit was dead and tried a heard reset not expecting it to work.

Gareth.
