Install onto my deveice NOT SD (map problem)

I have installed the TT software onto my TyTN mobile device and NOT on an SD card.

Te software installed ok - went through config ok - but then says No maps found.

I have placed the maps folder in \tomtom\Virginia which didnt work and even tried on the root of the device just \Virginia which didnt work either.

Can any one tell me where I need to place the CurrentMap.dat file and where do I need to place the maps folder?

ALSO I am doing this on the device NOT the SD card (so please dont suggest copying it to a SD card).

Im just using the internal memory as I am only place 1 map on it USA virginia. Everything fits ok... it just wont see the map.

The phone belongs to my company and we currently dont have any spare SD cards.

The company has version 5.2 and version 6 as well of the software.

Not sure how I find out the version of the map?

so if that worked - where did you put the currentmap.dat file ? and what line did you put in that file??

from the installation instruictions it says to put the currentmap.dat file in the mydocuments... and within that file have \sdcard\map_name

just wondering what your currentmap.dat file says and where you placed it.. as everything seems ok except it cant find the map!!?!

I check on the maps link on this site - and I have the correct file match. So thats why im asking where your currentmap.dat files is and whats in it?

i have just rea din another forum that if the current.dat file is not present then the tomtom autogenarates it.... if that is so then where should I place the virginia_maps folder?

just tried \TomTom\Virginia-Map

and that didnt work Sad

i have version 5.120 or 6.150 with map version 566

I have tried both TT versions... placed currentmap.dat in several places & even tried without that file too.

my map files are currenty in device\TomTom\Virginia-Map

yes we have it running all fine on another phone at work...

SPVC600 but that uses a storage card. The software & the new phone TyTN are from phone and i am not willing to but a SD card myself just to get the TT software working on it.

Work is happy with it working on the SPV - but I wanted to try getting it to work on the TyTN - and it all started becasue I couldnt see any reason WHY it had to run from a SD card.

Current folder setup is:

\tomtom\virginia-map
\program files\navigator
\my documents\tomtom

I have tried with the currentmap.dat file in each of the tomtom folders & also without the file too.

only reaosn I ask about the currentmap.dat file is that on the SPV phone we have a line in it saying \storage card\tomtom\virginia-map .. im currently trying a currenmap.dat with the line \tomtom\virginia-map\ but still no could..
