As a newbie, which is the definitive forum for posting questions on the Navman N series please...
And in the meantime... could someone tell me if I need the standard, mini or ultra SD card, for my N40i - the reason I ask is that they are £59 for the 1GB on the Navman site. Yet from specialist retailers (Offtek.co.uk) they are only around £12-14 for a 2GB standard SD, they also offer a 'mini' SD card for around twice the price of their standard and, the one I think I want - the Ultra SD (x133) - is only £34
... please advise!

You've got it right - this one

Navman say that the largest card they recommend is the 512Mb card BUT we all use bigger ones. I use a 1Gb card but it has to be the Ultra PRO or similar as you could get problems with a slower card. I don't think the Mini card fits but if you find a suitable specs card elsewhere then go for it. I personally use Kingston SD 1Gb Elite PRO but that is just a personal choice because they have never let me down. They are widely available on the net at around £15 or £16.
Other forum members, I believe have used higher capacity cards, so watch this space for more information _________________ Gee-Pee

I emailed Navman to ask them the same question (for the N20).
Their response was that a 2gb card was the largest that I could fit
