Connecting to Traffic using Motorola L7 on Orange

From a quick search it seems as if using Orange GPRS to connect to the Traffic service on my TomTom One should be possible but I'm unable to establish a connection. It pairs with the phone ok then seems to scroll through the different Orange tariffs before telling me it can't establish a connection. I've changed the settings on the phone so that it's connecting via internet rather than WAP and I've also tried the manual settings for the TomTom that are available on the support website. TomTom support say that Orange are not allowing me access to certain ports on their server but Orange deny this. Anybody any ideas what the problem could be?
