I have downloaded the Pgps database and have followed the instructions. However I can't find them on my Tom Tom Go 500 to enable them. The Tom Tom Home tells me they are all there, but they are not in the POI list so where to look? I am running TT version 6.520. I've thought that I might have gone over the POI limit but don't know how to make the necessary space.

With the 500 disconnected from the PC, do a 30sec pin-in-the-hole Reset.

It will make the 500 re-read the Card again. This works in nearly every case.

Thanks Oldboy but it hasn't worked. The reset just shuts it off then no change when I start up again. Any more ideas please?

How many POI's have you Installed in the Map Folder? There's a limit of 100 with V6.520!

It's not so much a question of space as numbers of Categories.

Perhaps you could go through, and tell us, what you actually did, and see if there is some clue as to what is wrong.

I have only downloaded the PGPS camera data. I previously had the TT database but i used TT Home to delete them all before starting to download the PGPS one. I haven't ever added or removed any of the standard TT POI's.
I started by making a back up of the SD card. Then downloaded the database to my desktop. I unzipped it and copied all items. Then accessed Removable disk via My Computer and pasted into the TT Map folder. I had updated the UK map and placed it all on a new 512 mb SD card a few days ago. The TT unit showed that it was communicating with my PC throughout the procedure. As I said in my previous post the TT Home programme is showing the PGPS database as being installed. At the same time as I downloaded the updated maps I also downloaded the TT updated application which, I believe, has changed the way POI's are handled and made it impossible to set warning distances and sounds. If I were to uninstall this application - might it help to return camera data to the POI list?

That is done by the new TT Camera File.

TT has always on PND's, and still do, use Warn When Near, for POI Alerts.

After you had upgraded the Maps, did you put the Camera Files into the New Map Folder?

Then did you go to Change Preferences and Switch to the New Map?

Forget Home. Connect the Go to the computer using the usb cable, and then use Windows Explorer to look for the camera files. There should be a bmp and ov2 file for each camera category, and if you are using them, an ogg file for each category as well. These must be in the map folder, and not in a separate folder of their own, even if that folder lies within the map folder. If they are not in the correct folder, drag and drop them.

Starting from scratch, the easiest way to get the PGPS cameras into the Go is to unzip them (I do it on the desktop) and then drag and drop (or copy/paste) all of the bmp and ov2 files into the map folder using Windows Explorer.

External camera databases imported as POIs still have the ability to set warning distances and sounds. It's only the Tom Tom database which is handled through the Plus Services menus that have lost this capability. I believe it's called progress?

All the OV2 and BMP files are in the map folder. They are inside a folder with a filing cabinet icon. Do they have to be taken out of this folder in some way for them to be recognised by the TT Go?

That's it exactly!! The bmp, ov2 and ogg files must lie directly in the map folder, and will not work anywhere else.
