New Tom Tom maps

I have just had an email saying that a new map update is now available (cost for my TT GO 700 is €77.96 (£52.68 )

Has anyone downloaded and used these already and, if so, how up to date is it?

Are they worthwhile and, can we get working maps from any other source but TomTom
