Garmin 2610 or IPAQ system?

Help please for a complete newbie. I have scoured the site for an answer to my question and have appreciated the in depth reviews. When will there be a review of the Garmin 2610?
I like the look of the Tom Tom maps, especially the 3D display, but feel that there are so many holes in the map database that it may well be worthless. If the maps don't show Penzance, Redruth,Camborne, Bodmin and Liskeard in Cornwall I am afraid I have little confidence in their accuracy in other UK regions.
I need a system that is portable between three vehicles. Whilst the Garmin will cost a little more it does appear better value and has all the European maps as well. I would appreciate any comments from garmin 2610 users and any other advice and help that anyone may care to offer.
