Having purchased Navman I suddenly find that Tom Tom has so many more downloads, including the speed camera downloads. I currently run a Road Angel as well as Navman and can see benefits of having the two combined on the PDA. I should have researched this better before purchasing Navman.

Will a HP2200 run both Navman and Tom Tom operating systems at the same time. The maps would be stored on 256MB Compact Flash cards.

You can certainly install both programs to the same PocketPC. Running them at the same time would require two separate GPS receivers or some special software, though.

Since connections to the GPS receiver are serial (in one way or the other) and it is not common that two programs can share the same serial port you would need another piece of software for that like a multiplexer or a service on the PocketPC (like the gpsd on Linux for PDA's).

So you can run either or...but not both at the same time.

Thank you very much for the information. Perhaps I did not express myself that clearly. I would only want to run one system at a time, so if the HP2200 is capable of storing both operating systems I can chose which to use.

Navman and TomTom aren't actually operating systems, they're just programs. You can install them both and run one at a time without problems. I currently have TomTom, Destinator, Navman, CoPilot, Mapopolis, TeleType, Memory-Map, Fugawi, OziExplorer and a whole host more installed and they all work fine installed to the same storage card and Pocket PC. I am running an iPAQ 2210.
