problem inputting address in route 66 for windows smartphone

i just purchased the route 66 mobile for windows smartphone. I live in New York city and some addresses here have a dash (-) on the house numbers. The problem i have is my inability to input the dash symbol to get the precise address. I tried the "1" button on my qtek 8300 to get the dash symbol to come up but with no luck. what i just do is i punch in the street, zoom to it and then find the actual house number manually by scrolling to the map until i find it and then save and navigate to it. I dont know if the software has a bug in it. I tried to hold the "T9" button to get the symbols to come up but still no luck..also tried to punch the number "1" until the dash symbol come up but nay....i appreciate it somebody will help me figure out on this problem.thank you and more power
