on the screen of my pocket pc HP 3950 running with TOMTOM 5 in the screen GPS status i see the speed and a number indicating degrees. What does this mean? This number is constantly changing.
Is there an extension of tomtom to get also the altitude?

welcome: Thats the number of derees in a cicle 360 ..as you turn clock wise from north the number will increase from Zero to 360 ..

The Device will only know your heading if you are moving. If the Device is stationary (on a table) it has no way of knowing which way round it is and any deviation in a weak signal will send it spinning.
