Hi please help.

1. Using the 2210 I have downloaded the HP BT update.

2.Using Powerlock Destinator 3
3.Configured the GPS to com8,9600,NMEA

4.Everything seems to work fine except for the fact that the GPS BT link to the IPAQ drops once in a while. I then have to shut off and on the GPS device and then go to BT manager- open again the SPP serial BT connection and only then able again to open the GPS software.

Any idea what is the problem?

Thanks

standard speed for BlueTooth is 38400. Set it to that speed and see if that helps.

Thanks I will try that .

In any way I did find out that even without operating the GPS software, when I link the GPS to the Ipaq the connection is dropping!

So that proves that the BT connection between the IPaq and the BT device is not good.

I will still try to set the software to work on the 3800, but is there any configuration I need to do on the GPS device as well?

No, the BT receiver is autosensing. You don't need to set anything there just yet. Later, if it keeps failing, you can try a hard reset on the receiver, but that should really be the last resort.

Hi,

No..that doesnt work.

I have hard reset my IPAQ to make sure nothing else is wrong and there it goes again...after establishing connection with the GPS it takes few min and the BT fails and is disconnected!

What could be the problem??

I meant hard reset for the receiver, not for the iPAQ. Try doing a factory reset on the receiver, and if it doesn't help, ask the vendor for a replacement
