Out of curiosity, could someone who owns a Mio C710 tell me if it shows the whole route in demo mode or just a part, as in Tomtom 5. Thanks to anyone who can help. |

Hi Deigy.
I can confirm that the 710 does show the whole route in demo mode, but unlike Tom Tom, there is no option to speed up the demo so you're stuck with a demo in 'real time'.
However, somewhere on this forum I do believe I have read that someone has managed to speed it up.
There is an option to view all of your routes directions in a text/symbol format and you have still got the option of avoiding roads etc.
Personally I don't bother with the demo's as I have been running it for 6 months and I have found the routing to be far superior to Tom Tom, Garmin & Navman.
So now I just trust the device. :D
Hasn't let me down yet.

Nearly right CeeJay,
If you have the new software version (mio map 3.2) you can ether show a real time Demo with sound (about 20 MPH) or high Speed Demo without sound (about 190 MPH) .
From the cockpit
Real Time Demo is accessed by pressing MENU / ROUTE / FLY OVER.
High Speed Demo is accessed by keeping the side Main Menu button pressed then pressing COCKPIT / MENU / ROUTE / FLY OVER.
To end Demo mode just tap the screen 8)

Thanks Dee. The only thing is, since reading through this forum, I thought a lot of people in the UK were having problems with the miomap 3.2 software and reverting back to 3.1. |

Hi DeeJay01.
I stand corrected.
Just tried it and it works as you say.
Shows how much I use the demo mode. I was quoting how v3.1 used to work and haven't used it since upgrading.
Sorry for the misleading info.
I am now running v3.2 and I have to say I haven't had any problems with it's operation since using the hack to change the cockpit layout. :D
