Which GPS for me?

I am confused! Can anyone advise me? My requiremenst seem simple an straightforward to me. I want a GPS system that I can use in my motorhome to help me find my way to UK and European camp sites, service areas and stop overs - I have references to these and set up those I anticipate needing as pushpins in Autoroute 2003. I carry my lap top around and a portable printer - this is generally fine for general navigation but I find the autoroute printed directions almost impossible to follow in towns.
I also own an HP Jornada 568 which I would like to make use of.
What I would really like to do is to plan my trips using autoroute on my laptop (or at home on mydesktop) and to then transfer to the GPS for navigation. Is this possible (there seems to be an interface between Navman and Autoroute)? - or can pushpins be exported / imported to other formats?
Otherwise what would be the best system for my Jornada (Tom Tom?) in terms of compatibility and what size CF card would I need to buy? and what else?
