Someone else reported this but I can't find the post now.

iI put the C710 into standby, removed from car and put in my pocket whilst shopping. On return to car unit refused to come on again. When put in standby battery was about half full.

Tried holding power switch for some seconds - Blank screen.
Tried the paperclip reset - Blank screen.
Tried the slider power switch on the base and left off for a couple of minutes - System came up.

Obviously *something* got its knickers in a twist.

Hi GPSBear.

I know where you're at, but how weird is this.
I have found that if I turn my ignition off with the power lead still plugged into the Mio I can guarantee that next time I turn it on I will either have to soft or hard reset it everytime.
Having now got used to it's little quirks, I never have the problem if I pull out the power lead before I turn the ignition off. Confused so now that's what I do all the time (until I forget now and again Embarassed ).
Don't ask me why.

CeeJay.

Why? :-)

As it happened it was running of the internal battery. The last thing it did before I switched it off was whinge about loss of signal - I was in a multi story.
