XDA II Bluetooth implementation issues

A warning for anyone that is planning to use a Bluetooth GPS receiver with an O2 XDA II. Don't bother.
I have just found out that none of the XDAII coom ports are enabled for Bluetooth. Therefore, you can pair the devices but, the selected GPS application is unable to communicate with the GPS. I have tried TomTom GPS, Crux View and SPGPS. I tried all com ports available with no success. Before anyone posts a reply explaining the pairing process, I have successfully paired and used the BT GPS with a Compaq Ipaq 3970.
So I know it should work. And I am aware that you need to enter the 0000 pin number the moment you try to use the BT GPS with a new PDA or laptop.
O2's XDA support team say software vendors will have to work on a fix, as there is no plan to update the XDA II Bluetooth stack at this stage.

there are plenty of threads available both on this site and on the net that describe the workaround. All XDA II users can relax - a working SPP soluiton is available as a temporary fix until the carriers come up with the regular ROM update (which should be pretty soon)
