I'm about to purchase the Garmin Nuvi300 and have looked at various POI websites including garminpoi.co.uk which has a zip file with lots of POIs, but the list doesn't seem to include the most obvious POI - petrol stations!

Is this so obvious that its not listed or am I missing something?

Also, what size SD card comes with this device as standard and roughly how much space is left after the UK map is taken into account (I presume the UK map is loaded onto the accompanying SD card?)

Fair question!

What happens is that the Garmin (Navteq) maps come with Petrol station POIs already installed so most of the POI databases you can download are for more specialist locations (ie, LPG filling stations).

A nice trick is that you can do "Find nearest Petrol" and it will take you there. It has saved my bacon a few times....

Also included are major hotels, parks, attractions, airports, railway stations shopping centres, car parking, cinemas etc

I'd guess that it's a 256 Meg and there is about 50 Meg free. Anyone?
