There used to the "GSpace GS-238 Wireless GPS Receiver" but this now appears to be discontinued.
I'm wanting a BT GPS which doesn't require any user input at all, I have a power socket in my car which powers up when I start the ignition, I'd like to plug a BT GPS into this but it has to not require me to physically switch the GPS on every time I want to use it. It must come on automatically when the power is applied, (and switch off again once the battery is dead).
Are there any new equivalents which can do this? |

Holux's GPSlim 236 will do this (it has a Hardware ON/OFF switch). The GSpace 238 is essentially a Holux GPSlim 236 in a slightly different case. _________________ Darren Griffin |

The APOS also has a switch.
The WinTec WBT-100 does not have a hardware switch, but powers on when external power is applied. So you can use that one as well (and benefit from the data logging features). _________________ Lutz

I've got a BT-74S (generic brand or something) that has a soft power button. I wanted to achieve the same thing as you, so I opened it up and stuck a piece of paper between the power button and casing. This meant that the power button was always being pressed down, so it switched on automatically when power is connected.
The receiver is installed under the dashboard of my car now and connected to a constant 12v line, so it's always running as long as the car battery is working. |

The new Holux GR-240 also has a hardware switch. But it's a bit too nice to be tucked away in the car somewhere 8) _________________ Lutz
