I downloaded version 6 for my Tom Tom 300, now I've installed it my Tom Tom no longer works. Can someone tell me what I've done wrong and how to rectify it. Forgive the pun but I'm lost without my TT. Waiting in anticipation. Crying or Very sad

Yes, I updated to a 512mb card soon after I purchased my TT. But thanks anyway!, any other ideas would be appreciated.

I'm not sure about a 'hard reset', and I don't have the same device as you. (I've got a TomTom One). However - I did experience the same problem as you, and I did a reset.

Simply push a paper-clip into the small reset hole in the base of the unit. This should the allow the unit to restart, and you should see the software install as a line running along the bottom.

If your unit is completely different to the TomTom One, I apologise, but I think it will work.

Version 6.10, 6.11 and 6.12 will not work with some SD Cards on the GO 300. Is your firmware version one of those?

I tried a reset, but my unit just froze. I have re-installed versiom 5.021, and my TT is back to normal. Think I will leave well alone. Thanks for the info though.

If you can be bothered, 6.15 is meant to be better. Havent bothered with it on my 300 though as it mostly seemed to fix things that werent broken on my 300 and 5.4 something (the alst 5.x release I think) is working well, it hasnt crashed or hung once since I went to that along with a bigger SD card.

the latest version that comes down the pipe from tomtoms site is v6.15.. i went from 6.10 to 6.15 without a problem with my 300.. i also went from 5.41 to 6.15 without a problem..

i have a feeling the odd numbered ones might be the problem..

6.10 comes on the new euro cards for the 300.. the other in-betweens might just be for the new tomtom one.. and not truely compatible with the earlier series..
