Out of curiosity has anyone ever tried fitting a PDA GPS system on a bike? In the car its bad enough having to pull over and check the map but on a bike its a nightmare.
I'm guessinig I'd just need a cigarette lighter adaptor wired in and mounted somehere accessible and then sit the whole system in a tankbag see through map pocket?

I use a Garmin GPS V with a RAM mount http://www.ram-mount.com/ on by CBR. RAM mounts work very well, you can get a mounting for almost anything. I brought mine for about 20 quid from GPS Warehouse http://www.gpsw.co.uk/
Garmins are waterproof so it's not too much of a problem on the bike but for a PDA your best bet is to use a tank bag with the tranparent map pocket in the top. |

Woops forgot about your review, Dave!
I see you can get waterproof cases like these: http://www.otterbox.com/ for your PDA which will make it waterproof and fairly robust. You can attach them to RAM mounts, so they might be a good solution.
They cost about $50 in the US but I am not sure who the UK supplier is. Checking out the people who advertise on this site might be a good start. |

I've been using the Garmin Etrex Vista on my Pan for a couple of years. Now I have the 2210 and BT receiver I'm looking at getting that set up on the bike. I'm waiting for the RAM mount for the 2210 - it's available in the US and should be here soon. I've got an Aquapac bag so I'll see how that works.
