Make sure you have configured the warnings or you will see nothing in either Demo mode or when driving. go to Change Preferences/ Manage POI/ Warn when near POI and configure each camera type you have loaded, if its the single file type you only have one to worry about, consolodated by type contains five and the Speed zoned set-up required 24 camera alerts to be set-up (well worth the extra effort) - Mike |

If you mean the TT built in POI files, no you can't remove them.
There is a limit to the number of POI files that you can have (39, I think), but if you're using the SingleFile database, you shouldn't run into problems, unless you've gone mad with Little Chefs & Esso Stations :D _________________ Jock

Thx bgf 4 reply. I have not made myself very clear. I am totally new to this and only had the unit 48 hrs so still learning :-). Here r the contents of the folder on the SD / MMC card. Code: | E:\Great_Britain-Map | . Code: | Cdlabel.alb
pocketgps_uk_gatso.bmp
pocketgps_uk_mobile.bmp
pocketgps_uk_redlight.bmp
pocketgps_uk_specs.bmp
pocketgps_uk_temp.bmp
Great_Britain-Map.cfg
cline.dat
cname.dat
cnode.dat
faces.dat
mapinfo.dat
poi.dat
tmccodes.dat
traffic.dat
traffic.inc
Great_Britain-2458b013.mac
Great_Britain.mid
pocketgps_uk_gatso.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile.ov2
pocketgps_uk_redlight.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs.ov2
pocketgps_uk_temp.ov2
Great_Britain.pna | I then have file Code: | TomTom_Speed_Cameras_Database_For_Great_Britain__July_2006.zip |
which i downloaded from here. 1) do i need to remove the other ov2 & bmp files in this directory or do i just add the contents of zip file? I have enabled in POI with warnings, bell etc but still nothing appears on route. any other POI i enable ie cinema etc shows. I only have the camera POI's enabled so the 39 POI thing isn't an issue. Obviously, i am missing something very basic here, so any guidance would be greatfully received. Thx. |

Yes you are missing something - reading the posts!
As Mike has already said you need to tell TT to warn you when you approach these otherwise you will get nothing. Follow the instructions in his post and let us know how you get on. _________________ Peter

peterc, Quote: | I have enabled in POI with warnings, bell etc but still nothing appears on route | from previous post. I have read various other posts trying to find an answer to this problem before i decided to post. also, when mike stated Quote: | Make sure you have configured the warnings | this comes back to earlier reply. I enabled the POI's, then selected ' warn when near PPOI' selected 500 yards then selected bell then enabled select only if POI is on route. Is that correct? because nothing is appearing. Please bear in mind i am a complete neewb when it comes to this. However, if this is the wrong forum for asking this type of question, please accept my apologies. thx. |

I have to ask, just in case.
Did you unzip the files first and copy the files from the new unzipped folder to your GB_Folder, or copy them straight from the .zip folder? _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

As the files are on the card all you need to do is set-up the "Warn When Near POI" which is found in Change Preferences/ Manage POI you need to set-up all five files seperately.
When you have chosen a demo route have you actually made it go past a camera location.
When driving with the device you need to have a route planned to get a warning as you have selected "Warn if POI on route" if you have no route planned then the unit cannot generate a warning, don't worry about asking questions - we all had to start from somewhere - Mike |

Remove:
pocketgps_uk_gatso.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso.bmp
pocketgps_uk_mobile.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile.bmp
pocketgps_uk_redlight.ov2
pocketgps_uk_redlight.bmp
pocketgps_uk_specs.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs.bmp
pocketgps_uk_temp.ov2
pocketgps_uk_temp.bmp
Add:
pocketgps_uk_sc.ov2
pocketgps_uk_sc.bmp
Then, within the application, Change Preferences - Manage POI - Enable POI - find pocketgps_uk_sc & tick the box -- This causes the POI to be displayed on the map.
Then, within the application, Change Preferences - Manage POI - Warn when near POI - find pocketgps_uk_sc & tap it - Enter the Warning Distance - Select the sound - Ensure that the Warn when near is NOT selected -- This causes you to get the warning as you approach the POI.
Let us know how you get on. _________________ Jock
