I just got a Garmin Quest 2 GPS. As I was golfing the other day, I starting wondering about plotting the golf course greens, so I can tell how far away I am from the hole. Is this possible and has anyone done it? Is there a place to get POIs of individual golf courses, not just their location but the actual course data? Plenty of courses now have GPS in the carts, so they must have been plotted already. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks, but the Quest 2 is a standalone GPS, not a pocket PC device. |

yep, the Garmin was not necessarily a good buy (except for the IP67). Get a Pocket PC and an Otterbox. _________________ Lutz

Yes, it is possible to create you own maps, have a look at
http://www.geopainting.com/en/
I guess you would get the aerial photos from Google Earth and trace the outlines of the fairways/greens but it's a bit of a job.
I think I saw some company who had mapped Golf Courses but I don't know if they were for Garmins or not. Have a look at the geopainting.com website and follow some of the links to see what maps people have made. Maybe you will find what you are looking for.
Good luck! _________________ Gone fishing! |
