Hello all,
I'm now the proud owner of an Ipaq 3630 Navman and TomTom 2.24 however I'm not able to install the software that came with it. The seller sent nearly 5gb of Ipag and TT software on a DVD rather than original stuff - will that still work or have I bought a duffer?!
Thanks

Sounds like either shareware or pirateware. TT software needs a activation code which allows a certain number of installs within set periods. If that's exceeded you would have to contact TT.
Hope you got a good deal on the Ipaq, then if the software is doubtful. |

Thanks Stevie for your reply.
So if I am unable to use the software that came with the package where can I source some genuine TT stuff; is it the sort of thing I can download from the net or are they linked to the machine that it's originally supplied with?
As I do have the right hardware I'd still like to get it all up and running however I'm not sure where I can go from here.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

There are a lot of places you can get it.
But you have to pay for it. _________________ Pc-Mobile

Correct, it sounds to me that he's just downloaded a whole load of pirated software from the net and dropped it onto a DVD (highly illegal).
All the latest Street Navigation software will require you to purchase it, and then activate it to stop software piracy. The cheapest decent package you will find will be TomTom Navigator which comes in at around £110. |
