How does the powered Garmin Quest motorbike cradle stand up to exposure to the ravages of the weather. My bike stands outside and only gets covered in the winter months. The plastic should be OK but how about the contacts and the internal electronics?
I've read that it's prudent to drill a few drain holes to stop a puddle collecting in the bottom of the cup, anyone tried this?

I use a Ram mount on my CBR Thou and remove the mount with the cradle along with the Quest. I just cut the wired near the cradle and fitted a connector into it. This is the type of connector I used but there must be dozens of different ons to choose from out there.

Thanks, thought of similar, looks much like the connector for my Optimate. This has a very handy rubber waterproof cap on the part that remains on the bike which would make the set-up complete, might have to try and find one of those as well. Having wired the mount to my rear light I have precious little lead left free to start chopping but I'm sure I could tease a short length free along the run to make this possible. Will take a visit to Maplins.

| It is an identical connector as the optimate. I could provide a photo if you really wanted one. |

No thanks, don't bother, if it's the same as the Optimate then as I own one of those I know exactly what it looks like. Additionally you've provided the Maplin's part numbers, you've done enough all ready.
