Hi,
I have just purchased some plus services which are tied to my device ID/product code or whatever its called and I want to know if this is possible to be backed up anywhere?
The reason I ask is I hard reset my PPC a lot due to my job and also when I perform ROM updates. If I do and re-install the product is the product code the same? or does it change with each install? Is it possible to back it up anywhere so it remains the same.
Thanks _________________ Visit Wayfinder Life for all your Wayfinder Navigator needs |

Thanks | I'm not sure about having to repeatedly re-install, but I'd suggest you have a look at Sprite Backup. I'm presuming that you have to hard reset because you're testing out new apps or something similar. I'd suggest that you get all your "normal" apps, including TT & Plus services, loaded, then use Sprite to give you a self-extracting backup. Then, when you hard reset, you tap on the backup & Robert's your relative, everything back as it was!
I had a problem, recently, with a screen saver app that wouldn't switch itself off despite repeated soft resets. I hard reset, and restored the latest backup, all within 10 mins. The only problem that I seem to have, is that the only thing that gets lost, after the restore, is the settings for Sprite Backup, but that is easy enough to reset manually. _________________ Jock

Yes, except for some of the Mio devices - those invent a new device id after each hard reset. _________________ Lutz
