Traffic Updates

Hi.

I am new to TomTom and was pretty impressed with it running on an HP HW6510 Messenger iPAQ. Whenever I've seen it running before you needed a lot of patience and you needed to reset often but things have definitely improved these days. This one seems rock-solid (especially impressive since it had been doing the rounds at work for a few months before being allocated to me and yet it just worked out of the box). What I really liked was the way it utilized the inbuilt GPS and inbuilt data connection but I was really only using it to check the weather (hot and humid again, doh!)

The Traffic Updates service seemed to be an obvious choice and so I subscribed at the weekend at a time when the TomTom website seemed a little flakey. My money was taken ok and I received confirmation emails but my account on the website still shows as "No Traffic" and whenever I log in through the handheld I am told that my subscription has expired.

I've contacted TomTom support and they've sent me a reply saying that it has been referred onto second-line support and then marked my call as answered.

Has anyone else had similar experiences? I presume the enabling of this service is pretty instant - even though my order is marked as "shipped", surely I do not have to wait for something to arrive through the post? Is there something I should be doing first to initiate Traffic Updates or does this just sound like an administration problem with my record on their systems?

Any info or advice would be welcome.
