Hi to all, I am new here. Just purchased the Nuvi 310 and have now downloaded the speed camera database to it. I cannot fault it for warning me of where they are and potential locations.
However when it does warn me, it tells me all sorts of incorrect speed limits. For example, driving on a dual carriageway it warned me I was approaching a camera and indicated the speed limit was 43.5 mph. The same in a 30 limit, it told me the limit was 19 mph.

Any ideas?

Regards

Reload the database and make sure POILoader is set to MPH and the unit is set to Statute Measurement.

You have one of them wrong....

Hi Guys

One of the niggles for me is that I can't find a way to set the speed notifications in MPH but have the Nuvi navigate in Kilometres and Metres.

Any suggestions?

Cheers - Nick

Hi Paul
Thanks for the advice. I have reloaded the database, but have a couple of questions.
1. When reloading I did it uising the manual mode, which asked me for speeds for each typr of camera. I set it to 30 for each, and now I'm not sure that was right.

2. How do I set the Statute Measurement on the unit? Checked the manual, and can't find any reference to it.

Thanks
Neil

Nick
I found that when you load from the POI loader it gives you the option to set MPH as apposed to KPH.

Settings / System / Units / Statute

Hi Neil

Tried this, I used cbrom's app. to convert the raw data and then set it to express and MPH in Garmin's poi loader. When you set the nuvi however to km/m it automatically converts the mph warning to kph. I can't find a way round this and havn't received a response from Garmin, although I shouldn't think its a query they get very often!

Thank you - Nick

Hi

Spoke to Garmin this morning regarding TMC and mentioned my problem. They didn't know how to solve this but suggested I email them and then they would consider it for inclusion in a firmware update.

I was also told that as the PGPSW speed camera database is not a Garmin product it's not supported by them (fair enough) but if I was to purchase Garmin's new speed camera database when it is released then they may be able to help me? Hmm...good sales banter but I don't see the correlation between the two!
