Ok, so you still have to pay a subscription, and you still have to pay GPRS costs, but you can bet it is more up to date than TT's as it's supported by Traffic Master.

And yes, I realise it doesn't give you route specific issues but if you zoom in to your area, and have it refresh as often as you want, then it could be pretty useful.

At £4.00 a month on Orange PAYG it's worth a trial run.
£40.00 a year? I'm not so sure!

Having tried this service it does what it claims, however there is no way to integrate the information with the TomTom software so you do not get dynamic re-routing. In use I found it Traffic TV application quite good (even viewing the images from the roadside cameras) BUT it is not usable when driving, too many button presses and is a major distraction to a driver.
The lack of integration to the Sat Nav is a big let down, as you would need to find a problem area on route, then re-program the route on the sat nav to avoid the trouble spot - not practical if you are the sole ocupant of the car IMHO.
The other thing I hate about any service such as this is the stupidly high cost of using GPRS, over a 12 month period it could get very costly - Mike

I actually came across it by accident and thought it looked interesting. Nice to have found someone thats used it, goodfeedback!!

I was actually searching for a very simple gadget I used to own many moons ago!!
It was this little blue UFO looking thing supplied by the RAC.
It had LED's on the wings and on the central circle, and it "spoke" to the blue trumpets on the roadside (now used by Traffic Master) to warn you visually of traffic issues.
Great in it's time, although again it won't integrate into the GPS, but my thinking was that if I knew that 5 miles ahead there was a queue, I could just drive off the main road and let TT do it's thing.
For the life of me though, I can't remember it's name!!!

It's close, well it's pretty much the same thing.
The RAC one was a different shape. It was like a circle with wings.
The advantage over the BT one you found was the number of LED's.
It had three on each wing. The wings were for problems to your left or right (in direction of travel) and these displayed 1 LED for 5 minutes, 2 for 10 minutes and 3 for 15 minutes delays.
It also had 3 LED's on the circle, again giving the same information in the direction of travel.
Also, if you were on a circular road like the M25, it would flash the lights in a circular motion (clockwise/anticlockwise) to tell you the holdups in either direction.
