I have a new(ish) i3 with UK maps (plus some Northern France maps) on a 256mb card. I'm off to France soon and am paranoid about installing full France maps for fear of overwriting my UK stuff (aware that a single Map file is created and installed to the card).

Is it possible to keep my current UK card for the UK part of my journey but pop it out and pop in a fresh card with installed French maps on? Question

Yes, that is by far the best way.

You should also (as matter of good housekeeping) back up your original transflash card to your hard drive (or CD) just in case it ever gets corrupt.
You can only load it back to the original card not a replacement.

Excellent advice, thx. I got an adapter yesterday, and had already backed my UK card up (paranoid, remember). I'll order a shiny, new, big, fat card for my French maps forthwith.
