I know this is slightly off-topic, but......

I was wondering if anybody knows if the pin-out provided by the GNS T-Box is the same as the standard PS2 interface, as desribed on http://www.ctips.com/ps2.html.

As I am tempted to use the T-box for another project, for when I am not using the navigation software.

Regards,

Richard

Unfortunately I don't have the answer - but would also like to know this.
I plugged the my navigon gprs unit into my Haicom 3-in-1 cradle to see if it would get power from it - and it won't. I know that the Haicom does not conform to the ps2 standard as it gives its pinouts in the user manual, and they differ to the web site link that you mention.

So its possible the Navigon does conform to the standard...

I've asked Navigon too - but they said they only distribute them, assuming they are a software developer only. I've asked them who the manufacturer is and await a reply - does anyone here know in the mean time?

Richard, I tried both Navigon and the manufacturer to no avial which was very frustrating and ended up having buy the ps2 to pda cable from them instead of being able to get it in the UK. So I will be watching with interest as it was the only downside to what is a brilliant product.

I have changed the PS2 male plug on the end of my navigon GPS Data and Charge cable
And soldered a power plug to charge the navigon GPS from my SEDIO car mount.
I have not used Yellow or Green Data leads as I only Require 5 Volt Power with Bluetooth
Also I do not no the numbering sequence of the pins but holding the plug and looking at the pins facing you, you will see a square peg at the top the first pin to the right of this I am calling ( pin 1 ) and going around anticlockwise

1 Red + 5 Volt
2 Green
3 Yellow
4 Not connected
5 Not Connected
6 Black - Volt

Hope this helps Richard

APOLOGIES - UNABLE TO EDIT OR DELETE PREVIOUS POSTS.
I HAVE COUNTED THE PINS IN THE PLUG CLOCKWISE - DEFINITELY - NOT ANTI CLOCKWISE.

Thanks Clocker,

Looks like I cannot use the PS2 connectors for what I want Sad

I will have to find a serial (RS232) connector cable for the job.
