Etrex USB and Nice maps on your PC

Hi, just spent my hard earned on a Garmin Etrex well happy,

But the Map software on the pc is a bit lack lustor in presentation I'm sure I've seen much better detailed maps somewhere. Is it a plugin or something?

Also downloads maps is very slow could I tune it up using USB some how?

Which version of the Etrex did you buy, and what Map software looks lacklustre?

I've got Vista and it came with Mapsource V5

I just thought you could do more with it.
