My motorola phone died on me, so i decided new phone time

I had come to the conclusion of these two.

1. 6280
2. n70.

Mainly because 02 offered them to me for free, and they were good mp3 players.

I work for evesham and did a year on the gps team so got to love the software (good ol destinator) and like the idea.

I got a "holox" gps receiver from next door neighbour who works for a company who purchased 20 of them, only to find they needed 12 and the company wanted a restocking fee, so he let them go for cheap.

Unfortunately, in my haste to get a new phone i chose the 6280 because of the slide function.

I then decided on the same day as it came to look at some software for it. I checked whether i could get our software to go on, just not happening.

I then tried co-pilot who i must admit answered my e-mail in 10 mins said the 6280 was a no -go

Ok then, tom tom here we come. I went straight for the phone compatiblilty list and saw the 6280 bring up some green ticks, great this sounded good. Sat down entering my card details in and decided to make double sure it will work, went into google and it brought me here.

I am now so glad that i did, the 6280 and tom tom mobile looks a no go, but i am unsure about the n70. If the n70 did work i have 3 more days left before i cant exchange my phone, and would love some advice / reports on the n70 and any software.

I have personally never used tom tom but i have used co-pilot on a mitac mio 168 so my experience with mob phone gps is little,

Thanks in advance people.

Welcome to the forum, I would take a read through THIS it runs to over 20 pages of problems/ fixes for using the Nokia N70 and TT, si I guess its not going to be an easy ride. Have you considered the Mini-S PDA based phone from O2, this will work fine with TomTom and is a nice device - Mike

Read the 22 pages I linked to before you phone, as its not that simple as any Nokia N70 working with the software it can depend upon the firmware loaded to the device which could cost you additional expense, just thought I would point this out a second time before you get the unit, have you looked at THIS - Mike
