|

Could someone help me with this problem? I have an i3 with the original software release on it. This has worked fine for me since i've had it but I haven't updated the POIS and cameras since new.
I have just come to update the POIs but have ran into a problem;I know there is a new version of the POI loader so i've downloaded this, used a new set of POIs and camera db (which I believe are now in a new format). I went for a test run and it picked up a local camera so I left it at that. When I had to use it properly it never warned me of any cameras but proceeded to tell me where all the little chiefs are!
So my question is, what have I missed that is causing the cameras and POIs not to work correctly on my i3?
I have downloaded the latest speed zoned camera db (so i can see all the cameras with the mph bitmaps), and Mafts latest POIs. Is it my old s/ware on the unit or is something else wrong?
I'll have a go at putting version 2.70 on (is this the best to use?) and reload the POIs but i'd appreciate any feedback on other potential issues
Is this just because my main i3 s/ware is to old for the new files?
Thanks |

Common problem. The new version of POILoader causes ALL POIs to be displayed and not just Speed or Proximity based ones. Revert back to an old version of POILoader and reload the POIs again.
As for the Speed Cameras you only get alerted when you are over the speed limit. |

Personally i think so. I have found that all versions since 2.70 have had more bugs and disadvantages than advantages. I believe many others here think the same. |

Thanks for the quick response. I thought the latest camera db and POIs wouldn't work with the old POI loader due to the format being different (which is why I downloaded it!)?
Also, I've had this unit almost a year and covered xxxx's of miles with it so i know how the camera warnings work. After the update I accelerated over the spped limit and netiher the speed alert banner of the camera warning where displayed?!
So if i use my original poi loader (version 2.2.1.3 from 2005) all the latest POIs and speed zoned camera db will work ok with my original i3 software? |

Works fine for me.

Is the camera in the database? Maybe it's been accidentally removed or isn't on the database. Are any other cameras detected or not detected?

I'm using 2.2.1 with the POILoader database (i file and not Speed Zoned) and all works well. Not so sure about the Speed Zoned database. |

You haven't inadvertently turned off Proxinity Alerts have you? (Settings, Navigation, Proximity Alerts).

I use the Speed-zoned database, and I get a warning when approaching a camera at any speed. _________________ Anita
