ViaMichellin and Tomtom 5 on same PDA?

Hi all,

New to the forums and I have been reading with interest how to install and use the Tomtom 5 software on a ViaMichelin PDA package. My wife has a HP 1710 PDA which fits into a GPS cradle mount and then automatically opens the ViaMichelin software ready to navigate. I prefer the Tomtom software which I have on my own Compaq PDA SatNav, but wanted to try and avoid having to remove her cradle setup whenever I wanted to use it in her car!

I was wondering if anyone had any experiences of installing say Tomtom 5 (or any other SatNav software) alongside the ViaMichelin software and if they could co-exist on the same PDA, so you could maybe choose one or the other to use?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Welcome.

Yes, you can install multiple programs. Normally you just cannot run them at the same time (some freaks use GPSgate to do even that).

The only problem we know of is the Kirrio cradle - it has some special hardware that only ViaMichelin can address. What's your GPS receiver?

The GPS will work but TomTom will not be able to control the speaker. The sound will come out of the device's (ridiculous) speaker.
