Hi everyone
my first post :D . my tomtom came with speed camera locations already built onto the sd card. They show all show up in the poi part. I havn't had one single warning. Do i need to set something up to be able to use this function?

Welcome to the forums.

Yes, display of POI and POI Warning are two separate things. You can even set it up to warn you without displaying the POIs on the map (by the way this is the preferred way if you need performance)

Go to the preferences, Manage POI, Warn when near POI, and configure it there.

Blimey do i have to set each camera catagory up individually? There's loads 8O

It depends on the unit you have IIRC my 910 came supplied with 38 camera files, I backed up the device and deleted these unwanted cameras.
Next I installed the Speed Zoned set-up from PocketGPSWorld. Having tried both data sets running next to each other for over one hundred miles I know which is more accurate and upto date - the in built TT database missed at least ten fixed cameras on the 100 mile trip PGPSW database missed non.
Its a pain setting up the warnings at first but with practice can be done in under five mins, as a tip write down a list of all the cameras and tick them off as you configure them.
You might also want to consider spoken alerts for the device instead of the beeps and bells the device is supplied with - have a look HERE pay attention to the version number loaded to your device and follow the instuctions.
Also you only set this up once (unless the cameras change name, different supplier of data etc) for an update the data files are replaced, all the settings remain the same, so its not a task you have to do on a regular basis - Mike
