Accuracy in Alaska and Hawai`i

Hi Folks,

I have noticed when driving in Hawai`i and Alaska that about %70 of the time TT places me ~100 yards to either side of the road I am driving on. Any less than 60 yards, and it snaps back on to the road. It seemed to be more accurate when in the larger city of Anchorage.

Is this due to inaccuracies in the map itself, or because satellite coverage is less than optimal in those "fringe" areas?

When driving in mainland US, it is quite accurate.

Using a Holux GPSlim236 via BT and wired with TTN5 on a Treo 650.

Those are rather map issues. Alaska is not high up enough for the northern hole, and Hawai'i has the best reception you can get.

Just bad map details, in Canada you are often off 1/4 of a mile or more.
