Best $100 beginners gps.

I am looking for a gps for use in Hunting and Hiking. Don't need a whole lot of features, just need to keep from getting lost. So far, from the research I've done, the Garmin Etrex is the only one I've really found. Is there another good choice, perhaps one with downloadable maps, that I am missing? Or is the Etrex the value leader?

The eTrex is the basic Garmin model, there are more expensive ones, some come with fishing/hunting settings, but the eTrex should do you just fine. You will be able to set various waypoints whilst you're out and about, and use Garmin's Track Back feature to get back to the first waypoint you've set.

In-fact you probably could go down to the Geko's, but for size of screen I'd say the eTrex is a little better.

If $100 is the maximum you can spend.
I second Dave's suggestion.
Look no further than the yellow eTrex.
